Apply for a CheqrPay Account

At this time, only entities granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service may create a CheqrPay account.  To sign up for a CheqrPay account, you will need to provide the following information:

Organization Information:

  • Organization Name
  • Organization Type
  • EIN
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Organization Website (Optional)
  • In lieu of a website, the organization may provide a description.
 

Principal Officer Information:

(The Principal Officer is defined as a member of the governing board and/or an individual responsible for ensuring the organization meets its regulatory obligations.)

  • Name
  • Email
  • Date of Birth
  • Address (this should be your home address)
  • Social Security Number**
  • Your Title
  • Phone Number (this can be the same as the Organization phone number)

Upon submitting your application, we will review the information supplied and get back to you within 24 hours either with account approval or a request for further information.

**Why do we ask for your Social Security Number (SSN)?
As a payment service provider, security is our number one priority. That is why we have chosen to partner with Stripe as our payment processor. Stripe is a PCI compliant payments processor which means they adhere to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as defined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. In plain English, it is a way of ensuring that safeguards are in place to protect consumer card data.

When an organization comes onboard the CheqrPay platform, we create a Stripe connected account to process your payments. We are required by Stripe to have current information for a Principal Officer of the Organization on record. We ask for your SSN because this information is required as part of Stripe’s mandatory identity verification requirement. Stripe must collect, verify, and maintain information on the individuals associated with every US Stripe account, as required by their regulators and financial partners. This is intended to promote transparency and prevent individuals from using complex company structures to hide terrorist financing, money laundering, tax evasion, and other financial crimes.

We only use your Social Security Number to create your Stripe Connected Account. Your data is transmitted securely directly to Stripe and we do not store this information anywhere on our servers or in our databases. CheqrPay employees do not have access to your Social Security Number.
